No Graham, yours is the wrong response to a real threat. A credible
threat should be checked out first BEFORE you send it to 2,000 people.
You say you didn't have time to check it out - but what about the 2,000
people you are sending it to. Do you think we have more time than you
do? If you had checked it out you would know that the actual message you
are sending is a hoax message that overblows the real threat. For the
most part, as Snopes says, only unpatched windows machines are
vulnerable to this attack. It doesn't burn your hard drive, CNN has not
said it is the worst virus ever, it is not a big threat, it's been
around for at least a year or more, etc, etc.
