That's unfortunate.  Try funding the membership fee yourself.  Should be
approx $200 a year.  Had to do it myself a few years ago.  Best money I
ever invested. Came out to a few dollars a months and it has paid big
dividends in my career.
I guarantee you will get a lot more out of ARMA for your money.  Just the
bookstore publications available free of charge to members only are worth
the cost of the annual fee.
Go to a couple of local chapter events.  Who knows?  You might like ARMA
and its people enough to volunteer some of your brains and time.  You'll
develop a nice network of contacts/advisors/mentors in no time.  CAUTION:
Only do this if you're serious about RM and want to stay in the field for
the next 5 - 10 years.

Thank you.  Joining ARMA is one item that I would love to do.  I just
have not approached management for the fee.

I would love to attend the ARMA conference, and have been reading about
it since last year. However, after some communication with management, I
don't believe this is something that they are wanting to use the money
on.

You might want to join ARMA also at arma.org as it is the primary
professional organization for records and information management
professionals.  Their website through the bookstore link will provide
you with much information on this subject either through purchase of
books or downloading various articles that deal with evaluating and
choosing the appropriate software for your needs.  I strongly recommend
that if you are able to attend their conference in Las Vegas, October
20-23 as there is a large vendor exhibit area where you could spend
several days talking to the vendors and evaluating the various software
products that are out there.
