Ben, the following is from Oregon Administrative Rule 166-017-0080(2),
Digital Imaging: "Public records with a scheduled retention period of
100 years or more may be stored on optical disk devices provided that
the original records are retained in hard copy or on microfilm for the
entire scheduled retention period."

In addition, the following note appears at the beginning of the state's
general retention schedules, also in various sections of OAR Chapter
166:

"Note: Inclusion of a record series in this schedule does not require
the series to be created. If a record is created electronically, it can
be retained in electronic format only as long as the retention period is
99 years or less."
