Dear All,
Anyone interested in participating in a roundtable discussion of records
management issues related to the Financial Services Industry is invited
to this gathering:
Date: Tuesday, Oct. 21
Time: 10-11:30
Location: Room N235.

ARMA has coined these sessions as "Thought Leader and Fellows Forum
sessions" and they are different from regular conference sessions.
They're designed to allow the audience to participate - to ask
questions, share experiences, and disagree if they see fit. Listen,
Share, Learn.

We had very good attendance at the last two ARMA conferences with
experienced Records Managers, IT Professionals and others joining the
roundtable sessions. Several people who will certainly attend have
networks in the US and the UK and they will bring discussion items and
feedback from other networking groups to this session.

A tentative list of topice for the Financial Services Roundtable is
below. Certainly, given the current state of the financial markets and
their impact on the economy, there is significant interest throughout
many organizations in what RIM can contribute. We will focus on topics
of interest. Several committed attendees will bring materials to share.

- Current Legal and Regulatory challenges
- eDiscovery, Legal Holds and Destructions
- Sharing of topics from various benchmarking exercises that have been
circulated
- Managing a RIM program in a mulitnational organization
- Records Management Applications
- Records management technologies

Join your colleagues to learn about trends, history, and opportunities
in this highly-regulated industry. Please send me AND Barbara McCole a
note if you wish to attend and if you have any agenda items, questions
or comments for the roundtable session.

Best regards,

David W. Smythe
