No real reason but some folks may not want to walk in the dirt and dodge
golf balls while wearing their high heels. 

1) rattlesnakes are sane creatures and have long since left the strip
area as tourists make "poor eatins"
2) Gila monsters - these reptiles are not native to the Las Vegas
valley.  However many folks have imported them from other places and
they have escaped  once in a while. The last time I saw a Gila Monster
here in the Las Vegas Valley I was a kid in elementary school, so I
tried to catch it not realizing that the bite of a Gila Monster is not
such a good thing.
3) Unpleasantly Drunk Persons - This issue is solved by grabbing a
margarita first. This gives you two options a) reach their level and you
will not notice the behaviour or b) give it to them and they will stop
bugging you
4) radioactive substances present - During nuclear testing program, all
the radioactive fallout would float out over southern Utah rather than
Las Vegas.  If such substances are present they will no doubt be from
various drunk aliens that have partied here in Las Vegas and forgotten
the "%*Sdf(GJD(9sdf" device. I believe that the Luxor Hotel and Casino
is actually an alien landing platform.  I mean if you were an alien
zipping by in your UFO and saw a very powerful sustained energy source
pointed straight up into space from the top of a pyramid, you would no
doubt think "Landing Pad". :)
