Instead of re-using parts, re-use more.  Have the trunk milled for lumber to build furniture to commemorate the tree.  Depending on the species, some fantastic furniture can be made from one-of-a-kind trees.  Sawyers are in most parts of the country and prices come out to around $50/hour for a sawyer to come to your location with a portable sawmill and do the work.  You'll need somewhere dry to store the lumber for about 6 months to a year prior to using also.  Good luck!
