Program: As the need for sharing information, conducting research, and collaborating globally grows, there is a need to digitize information – to provide remote access to information that was previously accessed physically. In this presentation, you will hear about how the Smithsonian Institute National Museum of Natural History, a global leader in research and information management, has undertaken the development of a comprehensive, long-term strategy for managing its digital assets over time.

Speaker: Sarah Sartori is currently a project manager at The Travel Channel of the National Geographic Society and was formerly an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton. Sarah specializes in applying rigorous project management techniques in the execution of records management assessments and solutions. She is skilled at project management, requirements gathering, analysis, and management (including mapping records to the Federal Enterprise Architecture), process re-engineering, and system analysis and design. She has expertise with all phases of the software development life cycle, and was instrumental in developing the Digital Asset Management Strategy for the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

Menu: Please choose Roast Prime Rib, Broiled Salmon with Hollandaise Sauce, Paata Primavera, or Chicken Marsala for your main course. Dinner will be served with baked potato, vegetable of the day, coffee or tea, and the chef’s dessert. Cash bar will be available.

Cost: Online payment with credit card, available until reservation closing time, $35 @ Online Reservations; payment at the door, cash or check only: $30 for members, $35 non-members, $15 Students (Student ID required).
