paper recycling is usually charged on a per pound basis. If you search the
listserv archives you'll find that that there have been numerous discussions
over the years concerning the average weight of a standard records storage
carton. The range is usually 30 to 45 lbs.

If you are trying to budget for destruction/recycling I would use an average
weight of 35 lbs per records carton. One could assume that a records carton
contains one cubic foot of paper but why start that discussion again.

and yes like the fuel mileage statement your weights may very which is why I
said AVERAGE!!!. Now unleash the discussion
