I suspect that one reason he was so focused on accurate entry is that if he
weren't then payment by the insurer would be delayed. I had a staff member
one time who was a RHIT and became a CRM. Then reason she shifted to records
management from medical records was because the focus was more and more on
accurate coding for billing purposes. If a medical record is not accurately
coded, payment is delayed

BruceW mentioned some of the things that he is slowly finding out about
medical/health records. Here's one that I suspect a few know and that is
that your medical records in most cases belong to your physician and not to
you.

and yes do go back and look at the UK NHS RAIN stories that i've posted in
the past. In fact expect to see more such stories like the following if this
country moves forward with electronic health records
