Interesting points here. Has anyone taken a look at the document the ICA
created in this area? It consists of three parts - an overview, functional
requirements spec, and requirements for embedding RM into business systems.
It claims to synthesize requirements from about every leading RM functional
spec, including MoReq, MoReq2, DoD v2, DoD v3, NOARK, DOMEA, TNA 2002, VERS,
and a number of state and municipal specs.
I like it as a starting point and a high-level reqts doc - after all, every
RM system has to be able to do certain basic high-level things, the devil of
course being in the details as many of you have already mentioned. Many of
the requirements are not phrased in that way and are not detailed enough for
e.g. a developer to follow, but they are pretty good for discussion and as a
big rock to break up and polish into smaller, more specific requirements.
