"I know this is really back to basics. I am working with a group to put a Records Retention Policy in place and would like to start by defining exactly what is a record. Does anyone have a good, comprehensive definition I could use?"
John:
There has been a lot of discussion in the past on this subject so you should be able to find what you are looking for in the listserv archives. Additionally, check the ISO 15489 standard. I think the definition found in the standard is excellent.
Thanks, Steve
