One way we could help our cause is if we could get recognized as a
profession at the government level.  When I worked for NARA, records
management positions were classified under the Archivist series (I
don't think this has changed.)  Most federal records managers are
classified as either Management or Program Analysts or Librarians.  I
suspect the same applies for RMs working within state agencies as
well.

The Medical Records folks have two series.  Why can't records managers
have at least one.  Or maybe I'm asking too much...
