The justice department issued the E-Sign Act of 2002.  It states that,
unless otherwise specified, the authentiticity of a document cannot be
denied solely on the basis that it is in electronic form.  In a court of
law, you need only demonstrate the integrity of how you capture and true
and exact copy of the original. 

Call me if you want.  I've been challenged in court and have not lost on
that issue.
