Rikki - This is an unanswerable question in the abstract. The cost of a
lost record is related to the value of that record to the organization
and what it would cost to re-create it, if that is desirable and/or
possible. This calculation would be specific to the organization and the
record involved. Any dollar figure that doesn't take that into account,
regardless of the supposed authoritative source, is meaningless. Next
someone will ask how many angels can fit on the head of a pin - and I
suppose someone will answer that too.

I am looking for information on the cost of a lost record . . . not a
data breach but a good old fashioned accidental records loss where
someone shreds something they shouldn't or FedEx loses a box in
