The retail industry is already beginning to see a race towards products
that include a hot new technology called siftables.  Siftables are small
golf-ball sized computers with wireless communication, graphical
display, motion sensing capability, interactive detection (think of
robotic toys...like furbies... that can detect their kind and start
interacting without user intervention).

A stack of siftables piled on a desk can silently form a borg collective
in order to form a single interface to accomplish a task.  Users can
group, sort, or manipulate them and they will interact with digital
information and media as the user wishes.

Imagine having a stack of siftables on your desk in lieu of paper
records and being able to manipulate them to interact with content
management repositories.  Imagine what it might be like if end users
could use siftables to reach into their computer monitor screens and
manipulate data and information instead of paper.  Of course, it will
open up a lot of security and privacy issues, but the possibilities are
very exciting.
