This problem is more prevalent than any storage vendor is willing to
admit to.  In my current position as well as a previous company, we
moved records from one vendor to another, and they lost pallets of boxes
both times.

Needless-to-say, I understand your frustration.  Tracking a "Phantom
Box" can drive you insane.
