If what I'm about to write seems off base for the list, I'd be very
appreciative if someone could point me toward a more appropriate user
group. That said, here goes...

At MetLife, we are currently looking to upgrade our current DM,
Hummingbird DM5, to EDOCS by Open Text, and want to have integration with
our email application, Lotus. We have a small issue with attachments in
Lotus. When dragging and dropping a message with attachment from Lotus to
EDOCS, the message is fully searchable, but only the attached file's
metadata is searchable. We can resolve the full text searchability, to a
degree, by saving the attached file separately and then dropping it in
EDOCS. But doing this breaks the connection between the message and the
attached file. Before I go further, I should add that this is the
situation because of internal security protocols (that will not change) at
MetLife.

What I'd like to find out, is there a workaround of any kind where the
email message and its attachments are both fully searchable without having
to divorce the message from the attached document. Since this situation is
pretty much self imposed, I am not sure if anyone has ever experienced
this, or something similar. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Stephen
