I mean only records that no longer have operational,
fiscal or legal value and have been transferred to a repository for
permanent preservation for their historical, aesthetic and/or
educational value and include include "born-digital" records; digitized
physical records; purely physical records, or some combination thereof.

Ori, what do you mean by "historical archive"?

By "archive", do you mean only records that no longer have operational,
fiscal or legal value and have been transferred to a repository for
permanent preservation for their historical, aesthetic and/or
educational value, OR do you mean to include records that have current
operational, fiscal or legal value?

Does this historical archive include "born-digital" records; digitised
physical records; purely physical records, or some combination thereof?

Best regards.

Fred

Subject: [RM] Question re Document managemenetsystems for archives

I will appreciate getting feedback re the suitability of document
management systems (such as Documentum or Filenet or other equivalent
system) for managing an historical archive. What would be their
advantaged versus disadvantages. Are any of you using them within your
organizations for the purpose of archive management?
