Don is right if you have fair pay in the workplace. 
Sort of like the IRS rule that if you are committing fraud in your tax return you have to keep your records six years,otherwise you only have to keep them three. If your org determines that you have fair pay then you hav eno worries. Of course if you slap a perm retention on your HR records it might indicate to some sharp lawyer that you knew there was not pay equity, but then I am not a lawyer.
