You're spot on Hugh.
No one needs to be "pawing" through my records. I am so thankful we manage our own space now and I don't have an outside vendor anymore. I did receive a letter notifying me of this repacking fee. Why I asked would they need to repack my stuff? Like so many of you, we have materials that never get recalled. What are these people doing that's causing a 3 or 4 year old box to fail?
Don't have an answer, but as we audit our collection we are finding many boxes that are crushed. None of these were ever recalled by us. Maybe I should send my former vendor a bill?
All humor aside, others have brought up the issue of chain of custody. I hope that I am never asked in a depo about warehousing and our former storage vendor. Could I refer to my customer rep? Nope. In the past 3 or 4 years I never knew who that was. And they lost us as a customer cause they never knew who we were either.
Rock on!
