The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) has approved the
National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators
(NAGARA) 2009 Annual Meeting program and pre-conference workshops for
Certification Maintenance points.
NAGARA's Annual Meeting will be held in Seattle from Thursday, July 16
through Saturday, July 18. A number of pre-conference workshops are
scheduled for Wednesday, July 15. Registration for the Annual Meeting
is not required for attendance at any of the concurrent workshops that
will be offered on Wednesday.
The pre-conference workshops are as follows:
* Basics of Archives
Approved for 5.00 CMP's, approval code 20090617122300
* Disaster Preparedness and Response
Approved for 6.50 CMP's, approval code 20090617122455
* Managing E-mail and Electronic Documents as Records
Approved for 3.00 CMP's, approval code 20090617122627
* Developing Your Records Management Program
Approved for 4.00 CMP's, approval code 20090617122819
The NAGARA Annual Meeting has been approved for 13.00 CMP's, approval
code 20090617121254.
Among the scheduled presentations:
* An opening forum on accountability and open records law
featuring Washington state government officials and moderated by the
Washington Coalition for Open Government.
* Sessions on a wide range of topics, including:
* Records Management and the New Rules of Civil Procedure
* The Washington Digital Archives: Five Years Bringing the
Past into the Future
* Case Studies in Records Management: Oregon's ERMS
Implementation Case Study
* So Where Do I Put the Wiki?: Resources for Collaborative
Compliance
* Archives On-Line: Digitizing Archival Holdings for Web
Presentation
* And...The View from the Bench - observations on archives and
records management from Washington Supreme Court Chief Justice Gerry
Alexander.
NAGARA will also be holding an entire day of functions at the Microsoft
campus in Redmond, WA on Friday.
For further information about NAGARA's Annual Meeting program and
pre-conference workshops, please visit www.nagara.org. Attendance at
the Annual Meeting is not a prerequisite to register for the
pre-conference workshops. However, some pre-conference workshops do
have capacity limits.
