You are correct.  But the DD Form 214 does not state what specific duties
you performed and for how long in each.  Also, just because you had a
specific specialty doesn't necessarily mean you performed them your whole
career.  This is especially true if you were an officer although it also
applies to enlisted to a certain degree.  While on active duty I had a
couple of assignments that were not related to what my actual specialty
was.

For those who served (as well as those currently on active duty)
contemplating applying for CRM here is a suggestion.  I would develop a list
of functions for each position you worked in as well as assign
percentages to each function.  Forward these to your former supervisors (if
you still keep in touch with them) and ask if they would sign off.  If you
are still in good graces with them chances are they will.  I did this when I
decided to pursue the CRM and was successful.  It took some effort up front
to put everything together but well worth the effort.
