We made an attempt to do it, but found there were too many variables and
jurisdictions involved to be able to construct anything meaningful. A lot
depends on how you plan to use it and where you do business e.g. Signing
off on an engineering drawing, mortgage document, regulatory filing,
financial transaction, etc. We found some wanted a scanned image of a
signatures, other's were fine with a user login and pin, certain levels of
encryption, etc. In the end we drafted a white paper with our attorneys
with the conclusion that we'd have to evaluate the use of electronic
signature on a case by case situation
