Good afternoon,
I recently learned that my (personal) credit card company outsources its billing activity to an international 3rd party, and while it came as a surprise, it is slightly un-nerving to me. Now, I know that many US businesses outsource as a standard business practice in order to save money, but I guess I just never thought about exactly what kind of activity was being outsourced. However, it has caused me to think about whether any of the vendors we use at my Company outsources any of their customer-related business activity to international 3rd parties, and I'm curious as to what the Listserv thinks.
Are any of you using RM vendors who outsource their business activity (i.e. YOUR business information) to 3rd parties-domestic or international? If so, do you have anything special in your contracts with these vendors safeguarding your company's information?
To be honest I've not thought about this practice before in any detail, so I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. As usual, any and all thoughts on this topic are welcome.
Thanks.
Earl
