This survey is paid for by ARMA and is being conducted by Readex Research who will produce the Records and Information Management Salary & Compensation Survey Report in January 2010.(the text is from the invitation email).  Although I very much appreciate the work that Ray has done, most HR departments will only consider compensation adjustments based on data collected by organizations they recognize as authorities.  Thus for many of us, this official ARMA project is a welcome move.

By definition, all surveys are limited to the people who receive them and choose to reply so none are perfect.
