I received the same invitation. FWIW, A few years ago when our daughter was
in middle school she received invitations from People to People to
participate in some of their overseas "Ambassador" programs, and we attended
2-3 of their orientation sessions describing the various trips. I checked
out People to People at that time, and it seemed to be a very reputable
organization. My daughter didn't take any of the trips, due to finances
and/or scheduling conflicts, but some of her friends participated year after
year and seemed to find it a rewarding experience. If you're into archives
and/or South Africa and can afford it, it is probably a good opportunity.

OT: She's finally going to get her trip to Australia - she's in college now
and will be studying abroad there next semester.

Subject: Anyone familiar with the People to People Citizen Ambassador
Program for Global Archives Management?

Good morning,

I'm curious as to whether anyone in RM-land is familiar with the subject
program and the work they do? Has anyone ever participated in a similar
delegation? If so, where did you go? As this program appears to focus on
archives management, I'm not sure how-as a records manager, I was selected
but I am very interested. Apparently, this program's primary objective is
to "seek a better understanding of the archival profession in South Africa"
through 1-on-1 dialogue with overseas counterparts, for professional
diplomacy.

It sounds like quite an opportunity but I'd love to hear about other
experiences with this, or similar programs. If anyone can share similar
experiences then please contact me off-list.

Thanks.

Earl
