A Records Management Task Force was formed, headed by the Director of
Administration (third-ranking level in the organisation). Members of the
Task Force (six) included a representative from the Confidentiality and
Security Section, and three staff responsible for archives and records
management .

After much discussion/writing, a policy statement was issued, signed by
the CEO, followed by an RM strategy and SOP on RM, both also signed by the
CEO. The latter two documents were transmitted in PDF to all staff via
email, and subsequently posted on the Intranet (under the records
management page and quality system documentation portal respectively)

Subject
Management Directive

It is an axiom of records management that when starting a records
program at an organization you must get buy-in/backing from senior
management, preferably via a management directive or some form of
management communication.

I am looking for people WHO HAVE OBTAINED said management communication
who might share with us the format that it came in: was it a published
directive? In what format? A memo? Distributed how? Paper? Email?
Intranet?

Please, I am not interested in theory or musings from people who haven't
obtained these, as I have theory and musings already.

Thanks,
Gary Link, CRM
