An interesting article about use of RFID tags to reduce theft out of the
County's library system (full disclosure - it's the same county I work
for). I was interested in the $425,000/year savings they cite from
"streamlined materials handling", in addition to the annual savings from
theft prevention. The materials handling piece, which they get into a
bit in the article, may have pertinence to records managers - it's a
consideration I hadn't really associated with RFID:
