Hi Tom,

One thing that is necessary to properly identify a record for retention
purposes is the context, and a purely subject-oriented identifier will not
do this for you.

One needs to identify the context of who the parties to the exchance were.
So, for example, communications between a company official and the chief
financial officer, will likely have more retention value (and for longer)as
a record than one between two data-entry folk. Think first about content as
it relates to context, then subject material.

My 2 cents worth.
