I wouldn't jump into the Apple racket just because they've put out some cheaper models. The tech they're running on is antiquated in my book. Core 2 Duo mobile processors (which is what they're putting in this "desktop" model??) came out in 2006 and have since been replaced by faster, more stable quad core processors which support much more demanding applications and will shortly (Q2 2010 I believe) start to be replaced by 6-core processors. Also, 256mb video RAM is almost a joke. That can play Netflix streaming video, but don't try to run anything intensive, especially with (again) a mobile chipset. And no blu-ray? Why not?! With a tiny system like this, you would think that some consumers would be buying it as a media appliance to hook up to the tele. $350 for a (slightly better) desktop system + $140 for windows 7 = net ~$500. That's $100 less and not based on mobile tech.

Get out the Visa card, buddy

This is what replaced our home G4, I bumped up the memory and got the larger
hard drive and it was still under $800
