My experience is back in the days of reel to reel half inch videotape, so I
suspect things have changed a little since then. From what I've read,
Barrett is on the right track for software. My advice is that the one
essential thing you need is a really really good tripod (even with fancy
image stabilisation in the camera). And I don't mean $100!
Second priority is two small studio lights on stands.
Then you can go ahead and shoot your own stuff and it will look MUCH better.
