The February 2010 issue of the "Governance and Recordkeeping Around the
World" newsletter has been posted to the Libraries and Archives Canada
Internet site.

There is growing interest by governments worldwide in the potential uses of
public sector information and online engagement.
In Australia, the Government 2.0 Task Force has been created and is
comprised of policy and technical experts, entrepreneurs from government,
business, academic and cultural institutions. The task force has released a
final report.
In the United States, the Open Government Directive has been released. Its
primary goal is to increase the transparency and accountability of federal
agencies and to ensure greater access and information for the public.
There are similar developments in other jurisdictions.
Included in the spotlight on Government 2.0 are two podcasts featuring Dr.
Nicholas Gruen, Chair of the Government 2.0 Task Force and a podcast with
John McDonald, former Director of Information Management Standards and
Practices Division at Library and Archives Canada.
