Alison:

My choices would be:

	- Large: EMC Documentum or IBM FileNet
	- Medium: Hyland OnBase or Laserfiche Rio
	- Small (or at least different): Microsoft SharePoint

All are reasonably popular.

Subject: Introducing MLIS students to ECM/ERM Packages

Let us say that you have decided to introduce a class of MLIS students
to three currently-available ECM/ERM packages. Which three would they
be?

The goal here would not be to train the students to use these systems,
but rather to show them what sorts of functionality is available and
allow them to assess for themselves how well the software integrates
with the theoretical records and information management principles
they are learning in class.

One last restriction on the question: Since the students will
eventually end up in a variety of different workplaces, these three
packages should reflect both large-scale and smaller-scale ECM/ERM
solutions.

Thanks in advance for your input,

Alison Langmead
