My experience is that older software, especially without an underlying DBMS
like Oracle, Ingres, Sequel Server or the like, can be a real problem. More
modern software is less of an issue, provided you've got an SQL DBA on tap,
and preferably some schema diagrams, but the media can clobber you. I don't
think there is a clear answer, it depends.
And Jesse - those 5 1/4 inch disks - just fold them in half and they fit
quite well into a 3.5 inch slot.
