I found the post pretty interesting. The single thing that stood out for me
was a screenshot of Outlook 2010 that had some retention stuff
(http://sharepointrm.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/sprm01.jpg). Not sure if
this would require Exchange 2010 or how much additional configuration would
be required, but I found it interesting. If I read between the lines
correctly, it doesn't look like MS plans to pursue DoD 5015 certification
directly/natively (but that might be possible with a partner solution).
As I think I've noted before, Don has been one of the leading Sharepoint+RM
folks for a long time and his blog, http://sharepointrecordsmanagement.com,
*has* to be on your reading list if that topic has any interest to you
whatsoever (and if you call yourself a RIM professional, I submit that it
must).
