I passed the CRM in May and I can echo what has been said.

My test center would only allow 1 white board type item for taking notes and the pen they gave me was NOT fine point.

I strongly concur. I had a fine point marker but it wasn't a "firm" point. It had more in common with a small paintbrush than a marker.
They were very generous on the white boards so no complains there. There wasn't a line in my testing center but I wasn't getting up from the test and wasting any time unless it was a matter of life or death. Remember there are no free breaks.

This brings me to my main point of advice: Watch your time! A CRM advised me that part 6 is basically a time management exercise. It was the best advice I received. Try and plan roughly how much time (in minutes) you will spend on various tasks- reviewing the case, deciding exactly what is required, outlining, writing the answers, review, etc.

I found the time recommendations in the study guide to be right on target. You should plan on 2.5 hours for the first case study and 1.5 hours for the second. You are going to lose 5 minutes on procedural stuff so you will actually have 235 minutes to complete both case studies. I worked for 3 hours on the first study because I was very comfortable with the objective and decided to go for maximum points.

It was the correct choice for me but it was a very RISKY move. I nearly sweat blood trying to get through the second case study in a little less than an hour. I did it, but only had 2-3 minutes for review. The test screen will have a time clock that will run down to zero. Watch it carefully and pay attention to where you are in the process for each case study. Remember you are going to need points from both case studies to pass the exam. Good Luck!
