I'd like to echo the comments made by Robert Seibolt, i.e., that Part 6
is really a time-management exam.

It took me 3 tries to pass Part 6, and not because I have difficulty
expressing myself or can't write an essay.  My biggest challenge was
covering all the segments of the questions in the time allotted, but NOT
to waste time perfecting the language and structure within each segment
of my answer.  I had to do serious battle with my need to continually
edit and rephrase what I'd already written.  I kept getting caught up
in, "Oh, I could have said that better," or, "Oops, I reused that
adjective twice in the same paragraph; what's a good alternative term?",
and kept running out of time before I'd addressed those points specified
in the question.

After my first two "fails", I was fortunate to get an excellent mentor
from the ICRM, who was able to pinpoint where and why I was having
difficulties.  She then had me practice answering a small portion of a
test question in a short period of time (say, 10 minutes).  Then we'd
move on to doing the same for another portion, etc.  This was invaluable
for me.

I strongly recommend attending a CRM preparatory workshop, whether at
the ARMA conference or at one sponsored by an ARMA chapter.  These are
staffed by CRMs who've successfully coached many candidates.
