In a recent article published on Meyer Brown's website the authors review the whistleblower protection portion of this bill noting that employees have 10 years to file a claim and that claimants may be awarded from 10-30% of any award greater than $1 million. They suggest that this may have records retention implications since the bill also prohibits retaliation. For this reason they suggest a reconsideration of retention for personnel, payroll, and other records to match this 10 year period.

See http://www.mayerbrown.com/publications/article.asp?id=9402&nid=6

I was wondering if readers of the list had any thoughts on this topic.
