I am researching ways to streamline internal intellectual property (IP) disclosure processes.  I am looking for a relatively simple system to automate the IP process, including the routing of disclosure items (patents, etc.) through the approval process within an enterprise. I'm trying to figure out how other organizations handle IP disclosure processing internally as well as whether there are any commercial products that perform this function.

I'm finding a lot of products that do idea management such as Spigit.  I think the idea management products are overkill for the task at hand. Of course, there are a significant number of tools that do document management and business process management.  But I'm wondering if there are tools that just do workflow management or specialize in workflow in the IP arena.  The only possible match I have so far is First to File, http://www.firsttofile.com/

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
