Going either north or south up Highway 1 would be my first recommendation.
South takes you through Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz and then to the
beauties of Carmel and Big Sur maybe as far south as the Hearst Mansion in
San Simeon. North takes you up an amazing coastal drive to the Redwoods
north of Eureka. My preference would be north but both are fabulous drives.

A day in the Wine Country (I prefer the Sonoma Valley to Napa, less traffic)
is a wonderful day, lots of shops and wine and shopping and beautiful
scenery. Beautiful, but just a day.

Either the north or south drive could take as long as you want.

Subject: San Francisco trip following conference

Good day all......

For those of you who are familiar with the San Fran area, what spots would
you recommend my wife and I visit following the conference. We have seen
LA so that does not interest us. I have heard of a coastal highway which
may make for a scenic drive. I've heard that the Napa Valley is quite
nice as well. I have a week and would like to stay in a location for a
couple days and then move on. Any recommendations?

Thanks,
