Every physical or digital collection that exists in Israel or deals with the cultural heritage of the Land of Israel, the Jewish people or the State of Israel is eligible to take part in the Michael-Israel initiative.
 
The Michael-Israel website enables you to discover and research the cultural heritage of the State of Israel and the Jewish people. By using the website you can become acquainted with collections in a variety of fields such as archaeology, art, music, history and others. The collections are from libraries, museums, archives, cultural institutions and private collections and they document the cultural heritage of the Land of Israel, the Jewish people and institutions in the State of Israel. 
The Michael-Israel website is the Israeli focus of Project Michael, the catalogue of cultural collections from all over Europe. It enables users to find high-resolution digital images of cultural material from archives, museums, libraries, audio-visual libraries, memorial sites and archaeology in twenty countries in Europe."
