Hello,
As a natural gas transmission company we are part of the Critical Energy
Infrastructure and are required by the TSA and DHLS to monitor multiple
facilities through video surveillance. So far I haven't been able to track down
how long either of these agencies requires you to keep video surveillance. My
initial search of the List archives revealed a whole host of suggested retention
periods for this type of record, from 30 days to 10 years depending on
content. I didn't see where anyone in the energy/utility sector had weighed in
on this and I'm wondering how long the other energy companies that are a
part of the Critical Energy Infrastructure are currently keeping video
surveillance records and why?
My initial thought was to recommend a 1-year retention period since I would
imagine most devious plots would be executed and manifested within that time
frame...just a thought.
Any feedback is appreciated.
