It's a safe area to walk through, and it's rather unlikely you'll be walking
alone from the hotel.  It's dark here by 7pm presently, but it's a short
distance.

If you plan to avail yourself of the food offerings before tanking up, you
may want to head over a bit earlier- once they get crowded, service tends to
be a bit slow.

Knowing this group (historical references here to Chicago and New Orleans
specifically) even walking linked-arms across the width of the sidewalk two
deep to avoid kissing the pavement on the way back after, you may want to
consider a cab for the trip back. =)
