Greetings from Wonderful Wyoming,

The Wyoming Chapter of ARMA is hosting their Annual Spring Seminar on March 8th, 2010 at the Kiwanis Community House, Cheyenne, WY. This annual educational opportunity is sponsored in partnership with the Wyoming State Archives, City of Cheyenne, Wyoming State Historical Advisory Board, WY Dept. of Transportation, and Public Service Commission. This all day seminar will headline the "Impacts of Social Networking on Records and Information Management (RIM) in the Professional Environment."

Businesses today (including the State of Wyoming, counties, municipalities, and the private sector) are conducting business through social media/networking more now than ever before. Social Media is not going away! How is Social Media affecting your business records? Your historical records? and will your organization records be in compliance with legal retention requirements?

Seminar speakers will provide an overview of the history and diversity of Social Media and how it is being used today by both individuals and businesses. The presentations will also discuss the generational differences and myths which exist today that add to the complexity of using Social Media, security issues facing social networking, how social media can benefit businesses and government agencies with examples of how it is being used.

The Keynote Speaker is Helen Streck, CEO of Kaizen InfoSource LLC from Palo Alto, CA. Additional speakers will be Mike Crouch, State of Wyoming Enterprise I.T. Security Coordinator; Sue Castaneda, Public Relations and Marketing Specialist with the State of Wyoming Parks and Cultural Resources; and Kim Sears, Sr. Public Relations and Marketing Specialist with the Wyoming Business Council.
