Julie,
The only requirements I have seen that might be "unique" from typical
corporate records are credentialing files. Health care providers have
to be credentialed in order to provide services at hospitals (i.e.,
pass background checks, etc.). In the State of Florida, there are also
Agency for Health Care Administration ("AHCA") licensing requirements
for physicians offices providing Medicaid services.

Subject: Re: Health Care entity business records
Thanks Alex, Barbara and the anonymous folks who emailed me offlist.
Myinterpretation of the comments thus far are that my original
impressionstands - there isn't anything overly unique about the
corporate records of ahealthcare entity. Much like a law firm, the
business records aregenerally standard stuff, while the practice side
has many quirks.Granted, as Barbara pointed out, it all depends on
where you want to drawthe line between practice and business. The
practice may indeed drive someunique-ish types of records on the
business side, but still not completelyforeign. For example, Board of
Trustees docs can be found in any non-profit(not just healthcare),
academic docs are found in all entities who provideeducation, fleet
maintenance records are in any business who maintainsvehicles (be it
trucks or helicopters or spaceships), and even
occupationalexposure/environmental records aren't necessarily unique,
although for mypurposes here I'd put those on the practice side, not
the corporate sideunless you're talking about OSHA requirements for
workplace safety for themechanics who work on your fleet, etc.Again,
thanks for your insights. As always, they are spot on and
muchappreciated!Julie-- Julie J. Colgan,
