Debi - have a look at the VERS (Victoria Australia) government web site at

http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/publications/publns/PROVRMAdvice7.pdf

there is some useful material and options for doing snapshots etc. An
approach that works for a scrappy little feral MS Access database has
to be different to something that works for a major SAP, Peoplesoft or
Oracle Financials database where one table alone may be more than a
terabyte, and a total snapshot and encapsulation approach will also
breach licensing conditions.

I'm of the view that a database in itself is not a record, but the
representation of any part of it on a screen or in hardcopy may be.
That debate can get very metaphysical indeed!

Cheers

Glenn

These views are mine alone. They may or may not be those of any
previous or present employers or clients. I don't know. If I'd asked and
they'd agreed, I would have signed it "Harry Peck and Co and Glenn".
Or whatever. But I haven't, so I didn't.
