Adam, we're in exactly the same situation as you are:  new schedules and old schedules, co-existing.

We have followed the route Janice Hulme recommended in her posting:  the new schedules (see attached) are "pure" business function-based. The flowcharts are for the use of the 99.9999% of the users in each agency who are not (and don't want to become) records managers or attorneys.

The text schedule is in a MS Access database (the attached is a PDF'ed report); the flowcharts are in a MS Visio file (but they are easier to publish as a PDF file).

The outstanding problem for us is creating a "crosswalk" from the old Human Resources schedules to the new one (TBD).
