Among its 49 other peers, New Jersey is quickly emerging the boss on
criminal e-discovery issues. On April 5, the New Jersey Supreme Court
Special Committee on Discovery in Criminal and Quasi-Criminal Matters
released a 152-page report with extensive recommendations and proposed
changes to court rules for discovery in state criminal cases. Many of
the proposed rules, which were released for public comment, deal with
e-discovery. They would be the first such rules at the state or
federal levels if they are approved by the state supreme court.
