I have always found it helpful to mark these records for regular review
every so often...such as every 3 or 5 years. Sometimes, you are lucky
enough to get a management structure change with new or younger people in
office willing to consider a slightly more "finite" retention period other
than than "the second coming...."! It is sort of like checking your Record
Center pulse every so often to see how much you can stir the pot AND achieve
some potentially successful outcomes. Of course, you must always study your
organization's political landscape and appetite for risk tolerance.
