The California Historical Records Advisory Board is offering a free,
one-day workshop on Digital Imaging for Historical Records on Thursday,
May 23, 2013 at the Secretary of State's office, 1500 11th Street, Room
240, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Taught by experienced instructors, this
basic workshop will provide information about: 

 

*         Key concepts and terms

 

*         Program planning

 

*         Document profile attributes

 

*         Document preparation

 

*         Standards and best practices

 

*         Selecting imaging hardware and software

 

*         Imaging workflow

 

*         Working with vendors

 

*         Scanning textual documents, photographs, maps and drawings,
and bound volumes

 

*         Providing access to digital images
